WHEN PURCHASING USED BOILERS - Things to consider:

It should be noted in Ontario, Canada TSSA has made changes to boilers that operate in this Province.

All Steam boilers operating > 15 psig and over the size of 15 BHP must have a Guarded Plant Controls installed on the boiler.

All Steam Boilers operating < 15 psig and over the size of 30 BHP must have a Guarded Plant Controls installed on the boiler.

Due to the high cost of making this conversion, Second hand boilers are now becoming not very feasible to purchase.

We therefore, suggest that you make sure that the USED Boiler you are considering, meets all the new regulations, otherwise the cost to make the retrofit in the field will be almost the same as purchasing a new boiler.

It is important that you check the CRN # designated on boiler to determine if it is suitable for the Province you will be operating the unit
